Step 2: Moving Through Anxiety
I have struggled with anxiety since I was a child. For some, it is expressed emotionally/mentally, and for others, like myself, it is expressed physically. It took me many years to figure out that most of my physical ailments were my body's way of telling me to deal with my S**T.
There are many reasons to feel anxious....this year alone there is a sense of loss of control over our lives. Loss of jobs, loss of income, home schooling, media bombarding us with the 'fear' virus with our anxieties exploding across Facebook, Instagram, pointing fingers, and blaming others for our situations, when really we are reacting instead of listening.
Now it the time to step back and regroup....listen to your body. Where are you feeling the anxiety or other emotions....are you holding your breath, or breathing shallowly. Is your stomach upset more than usual. More headaches? Are you having more aches and pains than normal.....If this is the case, then you hold your emotions IN and your body is trying to get your attention!!!
Simple things can help....mentally ask your body to let go of what you no longer need. Shut off the TV or other social sources of 'news'. Go outside, take a walk, be grateful for what you do have. Be open to new opportunities that you may not have thought of. Phone a friend instead of texting. Eat good nutritious food. Find two positives for every negative. Gentle exercise. Journal. Keep it simple.
AND if you need a little help, I am always here to guide you along the way to better health with a BodyTalk or Reiki session that will help you recognize what's going on inside your body and help you release what is holding you back.
As always, be kind to yourself.
